Iron Mountain Wins Alexander Hamilton Award for Excellence in Corporate Financ

Iron Mountain Incorporated , the global leader in information protection and storage services, announced today that it was named the Silver winner of Treasury & Risk magazine’s 2007 Alexander Hamilton Award for Best Practice in Corporate Finance. The annual Alexander Hamilton Awards celebrate excellence in treasury and financial management. The honor recognizes Iron Mountain’s successful implementation of its global treasury program, which began in early 2006.

The recently-completed program took 18 months and involved Iron Mountain personnel from the treasury, tax, accounting and legal teams located in Boston, London, Scotland and Zurich, as well as advisors from numerous accounting, legal and banking institutions. The goals of the program were to align the treasury program against a growing global footprint, create a more flexible capital structure and increase liquidity. The five-phase strategy consisted of a North American tax plan, a European tax plan, five high-yield bond issuances (two in Euros, two in U.S. dollars and one in Canadian dollars), a new global senior credit facility and the creation of an international treasury center, including an in-house bank in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, to support the treasury function in Europe. Eventually, the international treasury center will provide additional support to Iron Mountain’s other international operations.

“Iron Mountain is honored to receive Treasury & Risk’s prestigious Alexander Hamilton Award for our global treasury program,” said Jeff Lawrence, senior vice president and treasurer of Iron Mountain. “As a large and expanding global enterprise, we must continually optimize our corporate finance strategy to remain flexible in support of our operations and stakeholders. I am extremely proud of the entire team, working on multiple continents, for their incredible effort and diligence to deliver outstanding results over such a short period of time.”

Treasury & Risk, a unit of Wicks Business Information, LLC, established the Alexander Hamilton Awards in 1996 to celebrate excellence in treasury and financial management.
