Free PerTOOLS License Offer About to Finish

Today in London, PerTOOLS, the provider of Time Series Analysis and Data Extractor tools announced that their ‘Special October Offer’ giving away free licenses of their products will end on Friday 31st October as originally planned.
Paul Darvell, Operations Director of PerTOOLS commented on the take-up of the offer: “We have had a fantastic response to this offer. Some people were clearly sceptical of the potential catch in an apparently ‘free offer’. However, there really are no catches and what people actually received was free software that normally sells for £900 per license”.
As this offer was not a revenue generating exercise I asked Darvell what the point of it was. He responded: “The reason is that our primary focus has always been to enable people to use our tools. That is why we have always offered free trials, free licenses to universities and why we created a distribution network to ensure that anyone who wanted to use our tools has someone local to them to whom they can talk. I know that some people may think we have taken that too far by giving away the products for free but we don’t see it like that”.
