trac-x Trading Results September 2009

On the European platform trac-x transport capacity trading totalled 1,188.03 GWh/h per day (September 2008: 652.08 GWh/h per day) in September.

This includes 1.78 GWh/h (September 2008: 0.03 GWh/h) traded in the day-ahead section of trac-x, where 39 of the placed day-ahead entries were successfully sold. At the cross-border point Bunde/Oude Statenzijl (entry) the average price for traded day-ahead capacities amounted to € 9.00 per MWh/h per day. At the cross-border point Eynatten/Raeren (entry) it amounted to an average of € 7.04 per MWh/h per day.

In the long-term section of the platform a total of 1,186.25 GWh/h per day (September 2008: 652.05 GWh/h per day) was traded in September.

Altogether, twelve of the long-term entries offered on trac-x were successfully purchased. September’s long-term capacities were placed on the platform with contract periods ranging from one month up to six years.

Since the platform’s trading start in March 2005, the overall trading volume on trac-x has reached a total of 57,301.6 GWh/h per day. This includes 133.94 GWh/h per day from day-ahead trading.

Currently, there are 434 users from 19 countries registered on www.trac x.de. Altogether, 61 companies are authorised to trade capacity rights on the platform. In September, one company was admitted to trade on trac-x.
